Hey y’all—my name is Rebekah Hutson. I am a black transracial adoptee hailing from the non melanated land of Olympia, Washington. To give you the short version…i was adopted at birth into a white family, which now has 3 black adoptees, and 14 transracially adopted cousins. I grew up in Western Washington, college educated in Boston and currently attempting to live out my creative dreams in Los Angeles.
This blog started as my platform to vent and share the real experiences of black transracial adoptees and still very much is. I write and create in the hopes that adoptive parents may learn from my experiences and that my fellow adoptees can find some solidarity, knowing they are not alone.
