A topic that always comes up frequently in regards to transracial adoption is if you need to move. Most of us TRAs are raised in predominately white cities with little to no access to our cultures. I understand moving isn't always an option and I do think there is a way to raise TRAs in predominantly white spaces, IF you are actively finding ways for racial mirrors and re-connecting with their cultures in other areas, but in order to do that, you need to be aware of what is missing.
So I created a little diversity inventory checklist
Instructions: Print out the checklistand follow the prompts for your local area. Feel free to add any other categories that may be relevant to your family...
What did you find out? Is your area fairly diverse or do are you lacking diversity in some areas? Which ones? How could you change that?
